I am reminded constantly about how proud and honored I am to be a student and staff member at Clark College. I feel so fortunate to be a part of a college that has so many different events offered for students and staff. Most students don’t realize that there are many events offered for students each quarter and they are free to attend and planned just for us.
Clark College offers different Student Success workshops that range from academic, professional and, personal development. These workshops are offered quarterly and the workshop schedule is available on Clark’s website.
Even more events are offered to Clark students through ASCC and APB. The Associated Students of Clark College and Activities Programming Board, do an amazing job at giving students a wide range of events that they can participate in. ASCC and APB are Clark’s Student government and they not only plan events but also represent the students of Clark College in committees along side staff and faculty and demonstrate leadership and service to the Clark community as a whole. They work really hard at making sure the student body of Clark College is represented in a way that coincides with the values and commitments of Clark College.
ASCC just held an event called, Project: Love Your Body. Courtney Braddock, the activities director of Clark College, hosted this event to promote a healthy body image. It was an event held specifically to inspire and motivate students to recognize what a healthy body image looks like. Courtney opened the event by telling us that the reason she decided to host this event was because she herself struggled with a negative body image in the past, and to her it is really important to know the healthy ways to love yourself.
Here are the last couple events being held by ASCC for Winter Quarter
2016 Presidential Primary Debate Viewing Party Wednesday, March 9th at 6:00 pm and March 10th at 6:00 pm
Spring Break Volunteer Opportunity Thursday March 31st 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
All events are posted on Clark College’s Website with more details.
Hope to see you all around campus participating in these events. I cannot wait to see the events for Spring Quarter 🙂
